Bird Milk Cake
Don’t let the name of this cake scare you off because after only one bite, you will have a new favorite! The lemon custard filling (where the bird milk name comes from) and layers of cake topped with a chocolate glaze and shredded coconut will make a believer out of you.
The cake has roots in Russia, but is now a mainstay in American bakeries, including the Manan Bakery, home of great Las Vegas pastries. It does have some surprising ingredients, like Cream of Wheat. However, when the unlikely mixture is baked to perfection, you will be amazed at the taste of this cake.
Sometimes, things with funny names are great, like Bird Milk Cake!
